Mindy Mar D.C., DACBSP, ICSC, CAC

Dr. Mindy Mar is a Board-Certified Chiropractic Sports Physician®, a Diplomate of the American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians® and a Board-Certified Animal Chiropractor via the American Veterinary Chiropractic Association practicing in San Diego. She received her doctorate degree from Southern California University of Health Sciences in 2002 and Bachelor of Science degree from Arizona State University in 1997 majoring in exercise science with a concentration on athletic training. She also obtained her Internationally Certified Sports Chiropractor diploma via the Federation of International Chiropractic Sports in 2012 and is listed as a certified member of the Concussion Registry database via American Chiropractic Board of Sports Physicians®. Dr. Mar is dual licensed in both California and Arizona. She is currently enrolled in her 5th post-doctoral program to become a certified Canine/Feline Rehabilitation Practitioner via Veterinary Academy of Higher Learning & University of Tennessee.

Dr. Mar has over 25 years of professional experience with professional sports, on-site corporate healthcare & private practice. In 2007, Dr. Mar was appointed by the Chargers organization, served 12 seasons and is recognized as the first female chiropractor within the NFL. She was the team physiotherapist for the BMW ORACLE Racing team, champions of the 33rd America’s Cup match in Valencia Spain. Dr. Mar is an official sports medicine volunteer healthcare provider for the United States Olympic Paralympic Committee (USOPC) and was selected as one of four chiropractors in the country to serve a two-week rotation at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs during Summer 2011. Dr. Mar served as part of the USOPC Medical staff for London Games 2012 and completed another USOPC rotation in Summer 2021 during Tokyo Olympics.

Over the years, Dr. Mar has worked with USA Cycling/Paracycling, USA Bobsled & Skeleton, USA Cricket, Team Canada Cycling & Team USA for various World Cups, camps and regional qualifiers. She also works with the German Football League, served as a sports medicine provider at Powerlifting Worlds in Dubai UAE in 2019 & was the first sports physio to work at the US Cricket Open in 2019. Dr. Mar was a sports medicine provider for the World Games 2017 in Wroclaw Poland & World Sporting Games 2019 in Tortosa Spain via Federation of International Chiropractic Sports, where 24 sports chiropractic physicians from around the world were selected to participate in the Games. Dr. Mar provided sports medicine care to various sports at the World Games including American Football, Jujitsu, Gymnastics, Indoor Rowing and Women’s Lacrosse.

Dr. Mar worked on-site at a Fortune 500 company for nearly a decade serving over 3500 employees and their dependents in a multi-disciplinary wellness center. She was responsible for assessing, diagnosing, treating and managing neuromusculoskeletal conditions, acute sports injuries & preventative care. Dr. Mar sits on both the ACBSP Diplomate/CCSP written board exam committee & abstract review committee. Dr. Mar presents nationwide on concussion management and sports injury at various organizations including CA Chiropractic Association, Sports Injury Council, Palmer West Sports Injury Council, Southern California University of Health Sciences Sports Injury Council, Life University Sports Council and Student American Chiropractic Association (SACA) Leadership Conference. She also works on-site at veterinary clinics in San Diego providing animal chiropractic & physical rehab/therapy care.

Dr. Mar is passionate about preventative healthcare, healthy lifestyle, animal welfare and pet loss grief support. During free time she enjoys watching sports, working out, pilates, sushi & sake, traveling the world and taking walks with her leash trained cat.
